Remember Me?

This is what you probably remember me looking like in High School. Wow, things have changed in ten years! I'd love to keep in contact with many of you, so please email me at kristiaskew@gmail.com if you'd like an invite to my more extensive and personal blog. This one is just a short version of the last decade of my life. Oh, and post so I know you've visited!

Husband and Kids

In October 2000, I married the most wonderful man ever - Dan Askew. He truly has been the best thing in my life. Many of you may recognize him as he grew up in the Sandy area and graduated from Brighton in 1996.

After finishing school and teaching for a while, our daughter Clara was born in October of 2006. She is just gorgeous and brings more joy to me than I ever could have imagined. Here are a few pictures of her from birth to now (21 months).

Here she is at just a week old in the palm of Dan's hands.

Here she is on Mother's Day last year (7 months old)

This is hiking at Bells Canyon at 12 months old

Here's my most recent and favorite picture of her with curly hair and the sweetest expression on her face! We LOVE her big brown eyes!

OK, I had to add this last photo. Clara and I have so much fun!

Also, we're expecting a baby boy in just a few short weeks! We can't wait to see Clara as a big sister and see what this boy does to our lives. No names chosen yet, but we'll see when he's born if any of the names on our short list fit him or not.

College and Work

I attended the University of Utah and although it took longer than anticipated, I really enjoyed all SIX years it took me to get my teaching degree.
Here I am with my dad getting ready for graduation.

My certificate allows me to teach English or math, but I chose to teach math to junior high students. Crazy, I know, but I love that age group, and love teaching Algebra and Geometry the most. I taught at Timberline Middle School in Alpine, Utah. I miss it terribly and plan to return to the teaching profession when my kidlets are in school.
I don't have any great pictures of me with students right now, but if I find them, I'll post them, too.
